Our Mission

Each year, physicians, residents, and support staff from the United States travel to Da Nang to deliver donated surgical supplies and equipment, medications, and other necessities, and to provide training and assistance for the clinic staff.  The work is indeed rewarding.

The project we hope to continue has allowed us to meet many wonderful physicians, nurses, and in particular, citizens of this beautiful country.  All welcome us with enthusiasm, and indeed, feel especially grateful that doctors from America are there to help.

As we returned in the spring of 2004, we did so with the hope and desire of improving the care for these children by providing new medical and surgical supplies and equipment, medications, and training for the staff and physicians.  And we hope that support for our project will allow us to continue our mission well into the future.

In October of 2003, Da Nang Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Center Director, Mr. Hoang Van Cuc and orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Do Van Thanh had the opportunity to visit the United States to learn more about the administration and practices of Western Medicine.  The trip was sponsored in part by the Vietnam Medical Project, Clearpath International, Daniel Nguyen, D.C., and other individuals and organizations.  The fact-finding trip took the visitors across the US over the entire month of October.  Part of the trip brought Mr. Cuc and Dr. Thanh to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fresno California where they had the opportunity to meet with hospital physicians and administrators.
